Is this just a strategic move to eliminate GoJets? That would leave SkyWest, Mesa and Republic as the only big players in the 70+ Seat regional market.

    Ha ha....

This will shake some things up. Will Republic go into bankruptcy again to dump the Tranny 50 seaters to force UA to award 70’s like they did with Delta?

I think there is something to that.......even more so when one of (Mesa,Skywest or GoJet) is about to loose 25 planes for UA express. 25 is also the number they have currently flying. If it is Go Jet that looses , that would be about 50% of their flying. May not be the end entirely, but it'd be the end of their "Fast Track to Captain, Unique Programs" TM.

I want to be optimistic. I hope that since Republic feeds AA/Delta/UA. That United does not award them anymore 175's and gives them the same ultimatum that UAL gave INC. You feed us exclusively or not at all.

Does anyone know if the 175's that INC are operating for UAL. Whether they own them or UA owns them. With the latest Terry-Gram regarding dual cabin class jets. If these 25 175E2's that UAL ordered. Would they come to us or would INC shaft us to bail SKW out. Enquiring minds want to know.

I was unaware such an ultimatum took place at INC. As of now, UA Express is only painted on 35% of Republics fleet, so I don't see them going in on any exclusive deal. Republic also owns many their planes, especially if they do acquire TSA Holdings as reported, client diversification will be central to their strategy.

Don't know what effect if any that will have on the placement of the 175s.

This memo was issued to everyone at Trans States.

“Yesterday evening, a rumor regarding the merger of our organization with another regional
airline holding company was reported by the media as fact.
Throughout our 35-year history, we’ve made it a practice to never give credence to rumors by
commenting on them. However, we are breaking our policy of not commenting on speculation
to reach out to you, the employees, due to the magnitude of inquiries we’ve received.
I can assure you that if there was something strategically important regarding our company to
report, you would hear it from company leadership, not from the media. We must remain
focused on providing our partners with the same safe, quality-focused and efficient service they
    have come to expect.”

First off Republic has 12 E-175's leased from United. They also have 175's leased from Delta and American. So, they don't own all of their planes.

Secondly why would UAL buy us if we are feeding other carriers and not them. Look at the way they bought CommutAir. They only feed United. That's why I don't see anything happening until we have completely left AA/DAL flying before UAL takes us seriously and that will also be based on INC deciding to let us go or take care of SKW first and give us the scraps last
