Trying to take my wife with me to GDL tonight for the 30hr. She still has her maiden name on her passport, but the ticket will have her married name. An agent and a red coat in IAH said that shouldn't be a problem, just bring our marriage license. Anyone else have experience with this?

    Thanks.

My wife traveled to South Africa this summer. All her documents were completely FUBAR'ED. Her S.A. passport didn't match her US drivers license, which didn't match her green card, etc. She took the marriage license and everything was fine.

I traveled like that for a little over a year (2 different last names with the certificate in hand) before a customs agent finally told me I need to get my passport updated. He still let me in.

At the ticket counter they gather information from your passport, so even if the name on the ticket doesn't match the passport name (nick names and maiden names and what not) they just need to properly capture the passport information. I don't know what goes on in customs - a marriage license sounds like a good thing to have with you. And in the future just book tickets under whatever name is on the passport.

Got back no problems either. US customs told her to fill out her form in whatever name was on her passport and they didn't even bat an eye. Thanks for the (constructive) input.
