I think Civil Flight Patrol should go to the top of the list, no questions asked.
So just how many from the top are going for the program? Just heard hogan going out as soon as details are inked...Poll or show of hands?
I doubt that many guys at the top will go.
I decided to count how many pilots are age 60 ahead of me on the newest seniority list that recently came out. I'm a little under 800 in the company. I was surprised to only find 25 pilots aged 60 ahead of me. I was also surprised at how young many of our most senior pilots are. I think that a larger amount of pilots will choose to interview than we expect. I know there are other factors besides age of course, but I thought age was a good indicator to start with.
Well when the 85### and 86### were hired between 1996 and 1998 you have to assume a lot were in their mid-20s, putting them in their mid-40s now. Still over 20 years if they decided to change airlines now. Plenty of time to make the jump.
They would have left for mainline already. Many don't want to commute or lose their vacation.
Don't grow a mustache until you are off probation. It will look like you are running for union office.
off probation where? Here? Or somewhere else? Or with the State of Texas for that incident last year... Ive said to much.
Heard the same line 10 years ago. Unsurprisingly those that left are all better off.
Will you guys stop with this age warfare! You have no idea why guys choose not to go to CAL! Better off! That's your opinion! Let me guess, your a pilot and that's all you are? So from your prospective then yes, all that went are better off! But here's my prospective! Most of us have other income or spouses that have better jobs then us! Not to mention those that choose not to go because of family which I would argue is the most valid reason of all. Theres allot of reasons out there and im no spoke person for this group but for me it was the right decision and a tuff one.
Broad brush here buddy!
Yup. What Dane said.
How many pilots ahead of you are 55 and older? That might be a better gauge.
The more that bypass, the better for me, but it seems dumb not to go now even if you're 55-60. Going to UAL now is different from going to CAL 10-15 years ago. Obviously. $80 an hour first year and $120 second...
Just speaking generally. No offense to those that chose to stay. I know there are outside factors.
Not true! Like Dane said, there are plenty of pilots here that make a lot of money outside of this job. Some own businesses and many have rich spouses. It makes a lot more sense for some pilots to stay here.
