It goes back to 2012 hires. I was a 2012 new hire and my class was safe but a couple classes behind me are getting furloughed.

I'm glad I left when I did. Even the hardest day of nursing sure beats being at schedulings beck and call on reserve.

How many furloughs all together? Between ERJ and CRJ.

The senior number from CLE posted above is for the displacement, not the furlough. Here is the list of the ERJ furloughs.

That makes sense AlohaFA. The most junior FA to be furloughed is going to be 11/26/2012 hire date.

xjetfa, your list shows the FA's who will be "affected" by the furloughs. They're just giving everyone a heads up that there might be a displacement bid and have to move people around the system to even it out amongst the bases. It does not mean the FA's on that list will be furloughed. The list provided by AlohaFA above appears to be the list of FA's who will be furloughed.

I'm still at lost to as why everyone keeps asking about CRJ FA's, that would be like me asking about how many GM employees are going to be let go. They are a completely separate company from us. What happens to them has nothing to do with us. As far as I'm concerned they are all on the street, there is no more ASA after their carrot of 20 200's are gone next year. Which I do not want for anybody in this economy. The real question is after the 45 FA's are furloughed and then they displace the next batch of FA's how many quit? Then we will know the real scope of this situation.

It's about being sympathetic and compassionate towards those who are employed from the same company that you are employed at, no matter their position within the company.

Why do you think that the CJR 200's in ORD will be gone next year? So if the economy was different, you'd be ok if they lost their job?

People aren't going to have a hard time finding a new job. May be the best thing for them. The funny thing is most jobs, even retail or fast food will probably pay more.

It’s not always about pay tho. I have a skill set that can make me a lot more money doing something outside the cockpit. Did it for a bit after college, but absolutely hated cubicle life. I can complain about work with the best of them but at the end of the trip there’s not a better job out there that I would rather be doing. Besides sitting at home doing nothing and admiring my billion dollar bank account. I’m hoping for the best for our Fas and would love to know the logic behind the furlough, and if in fact any furlough was done out of seniority order and without recall rights, and why current FA union leadership is still in power after that lovely contract that got shot down recently........

Their union rules are a mess. This is one of the reasons a group of them tried to put in a new union. Other airlines voting for reps etc.. They probably make more than you do . I’m talking captain pay from what I have been told.

This is sad, some really good people on that furlough list.

Strange they are furloughing just as we are supposedly getting a new aircraft that will need twice as many FAs. Is this just to send a message to the union, or are we really overstaffed on FAs?

What's really messed up is one list shows them displaced another shows them furloughed. They company can't make up its mind which way to go and a lot of FA's are about to shoot the finger and tell the company and the union where to stick it. Morale and performance are really in the crapper as the company practices really poor leadership. Which I blame more on CC and Inc than I do on TV and GW. The folks in Utah better decide they want this company to succeed and quit playing around. Even if they do want it to come crashing down. They are already finding out that they can't staff the CRJ flying that they recently took away in ATL and soon in DFW.

It's 2 different lists. They are furloughing from the bottom. The ones being furloughed and the ones being displaced are different. The displacement list is for those that are in danger of being displaced system wide. CLE is a senior base so that is why the displacement danger list looks so senior.
