Just flew a bunch in/out of EWR this week. Had multiple jumpseaters from Commutair saying how bad things were over there. 2 of them were leaving for another regional next month. People being downgraded and flights cancelling. For anyone here still thinking about heading over there I would think twice. Also hearing they are not getting any more of our XR's as planned.

We were two year ug when I started here, and was to continue for the foreseeable future. Like most, I wish I could have seen ahead 2008 - 2017.

There will never be movement like that again as long as xjt is owned by SkyWest inc.

Anything could happen at this point. It’s a shell game right now, and we are not the shell to looks for just yet. There is too much wierd crap going on to simply say never though.

Not being a pilot I only see the MX side of things, but I don't think it's that bad. EWR weather is what drives most of our cancels. We're going on 15 days without a controllable cancel. As far as getting more XR's, the schedule is in place and in work. One of the issues right now is the Dash 8's, their reliability sucks, and having a mixed fleet isn't helping things. As much as I like the Dash and being around turboprops again, it will be nice come January when we can put all the focus on the ERJ.

Of course this is just all my opinion. It's definitely a struggle, but I think we're just going through some growing pains. This place has never had this many aircraft, and then there are those who have been here forever, think the Dash is the greatest aircraft ever and don't like the change. We'll see, but so far I have no regrets leaving XJT for C5.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the two airlines joined within 2 years via some kind of deal by UA. Then you can be back with us again. I’ll be long gone by then though.

If there are no regrets why do you still bother posting on here? Sorry to say but it doesn't sound like any more ERJ's are coming your way. We are hearing that from "multiple sources".

The pilot side is a little worse. We had a bunch of union guys that never put much into a contract. We did things the "family" way. I will scratch your back if you scratch mine, kind of thing. That is being taken care of with some new union members.

We are still getting XR's showing up even though they are at a slow pace. The only downgrades are the guys that were upgraded into the dash during new hire class to fill the holes on the dash. No jet CA's are being downgraded.

Our current UA regional ranking is currently 5 out of 9. Not sure who the 4 regionals are that are pulling up the rear. Almost all of our cancels are UA initiated due to EWR ground delays or stops. Just like XJT, these do not count against us since we have no say in these cancels.

I have not made any recommendations for a few months for anyone to come over here, but I would not say the sky is falling over here either. We have one of the best groups of pilots and I make almost the same amount of money because of the way our contract is written (without the new hire bonus included). Upgrade should be soon and the CPP guys are getting ready to move on.

It may not be all rainbows and unicorns over here, but I just don't see a "meltdown".

I come on here every once in awhile to see if there's anything new. No, I have no regrets, but I was with XJT for 27 years and still care about what's going on. As far as the "multiple sources", the only source that counts is United. There are aircraft scheduled to come here, and we're gearing up for them. We'll just have to see what happens.

Red, stick around... I also believe that XJT and CA will be combined at some point. The set-up is perfect for United.

It was taken out of service and will be going back to Kingman to be put in storage. Why, I don't know. Since that one was taken out of service we had another aircraft go through conformity and put in service, so I'm not sure what the story with it is.

The real news is RIIGuy’s avatar. I can’t see the other hand. But, auto-complete is doing nicely filling that in.

Anyone heard anything further about the FAA shake up audit at CommutAir after their mechanics fatally injured an aircraft cleaner with the propeller of a Dash 8 at 3 in the morning.
