Exactly...the company and the union have tried to spin this as great news. Realistically, we were just the last individual still willing and able (?maybe) in the bar when the ugly lights came on so we're getting lucky. ERJ has still gone from over 270 planes to BARELY 100 and the CRJ side has gone from a respectable fleet that included 700s and 900s to now table scraps: 20 CRJ 200s that's we're only getting as a last resort.

Sorry, I'm not being negative...I still love it here and love my job but it is what it is. I'm still hoping for LEGITIMATE good news because this isn't.

How many erj did do we fly right now? “Up to 124!” News flash: we’re only flying around 90 according to ALPA Rep’s.

So if we still have 30 possible erjs on contract why would we bring in a new fleet type to fly this flying; that’s only 20 planes? (Yeah it’s new cause as of today there is only 1 fifty seat airplane in service at Xjt.)

Also why fly a crj-200 in ord anyway. It can be done with the erj and one 50 seater would reduce staffing and reserve levels. Something that is difficult at XJT.

I feel like this was done because there’s no training involved for the LASA guys. They can immediately go from the 700’s to the 200’s and not back up the training pipeline by getting a couple hundred (ish....) typed in the 145.

    Just a thought.

I wouldn't be surprised if some ERJ pilots and/or new hires are needed to staff this.

It’s not posted anywhere, but this is likely just to help AW get on their feet over the holiday season. It is 200’s cause the planes are going there when we’re done. Wether the ASA guys will bite enough to make it work is TBD. On this one, I bet it’s not just our partners watching to see just our viability and how bad the shortage really is.

There aren’t enough CRJ pilots to staff this and someway bid ERJ. Will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

Agreed. I would have told DL to go pound sand, but that’s just me.

I feel like the guy with a hot bitch as an ex girlfriend. She keeps asking for favors and like a bunch of schmucks we go along and do them in the hopes she will take us back. “Watch your dog while you go to the beach with your new boyfriend? Sure thing!! Can I wash your car too?”

All this stuff is a distraction. It keeps our minds off of our $1.50 an hour raise.
