Default voltage maintenance

Hey all, what maintains a constant voltage output from the engine generators and the apu generator? The systems book doesn't explain specifically. Is there a drive or guide vanes on the APU? I thought I knew this answer...

No, there is a little elf who lives in every APU and when he senses an overvoltage he puts his thumb on the turbine wheel to slow it down a bit to regulate voltage

UFOGUY, you should know better than to ask a serious question on "crew room" where all the goofballs hang out and lurk for something like this... you should have posted your question on "tech talk" where it's ok to ask serious questions and you're likely to get a good answer because the goofballs are too cool to read "tech talk" and answer seriously.

oh wait...

btw I'm very disappointed to see that I'm not the only one that took pictures of the sparrer! I thought it'd be worth something on ebay soon.
