    this is from another board;

    As the first order of business for today's MEC meeting, the CAL MEC unanimously passed a resolution to conduct a strike vote.

    This resolution continues the plan that we have consistently held to since the beginning of negotiations for our contract.

    Today's vote also is a symbol of our recognition that today is the anniversary of the L-UAL pilots' 1985 strike. We have sent this resolution to the UAL MEC in the hope that they will see fit to join us in a show of unity.

    It's gonna be weird for some of their senior pilots. They are gonna see their own picket line and instinctively feel the urge to cross it...just for old times' sake.

    I'm just surprised the CAL MEC didn't have the hubris to ask us to join them in the fight against outsourcing!

    They're in the "cooling off" period however long that is.

    Do we really think Obama will allow a strike during reelection? They are going to cool off til after November.
