You Sir couldn't be more correct.
I'm nov 05 hire, sitting right seat the whole time, now just passed 5000 total and I have an ATP and type in Lears and I haven't even seen a nice cup of coffee.
I wish I would've been an intern, that gets you places quicker than a stupid ATP or type. It doesn't hurt to know someone as well.
Dave
Are you guys kidding. Now, the airlines will only be able to hire pilots with an ATP now. Age 65 will be here soon. Apache, you haven't been able to take advantage of your ATP license because age 65 screwed you for 5 years and airlines could hire pilots with 250 hours.
Trust me, your stock just increased a ton. Watch
I had an "ATP" long before the age 65 rule. I also have two jet types and turbine PIC, but I don't network enough with airline pilots to get an interview anywhere. Don't fool yourself, it is and always will be who you know in this business. Nobody gives a dam about your ATP... just who walked your resumé in.
That was your problem before this bill and the Age 65 rule. Now we have Age 65 coming up and now every airline pilot will need to have an ATP. The airlines will not have to mask their low wages by hiring 9 month 250 hour wonders.
I don't care how you try and spin this. You have a much larger stock now than you did yesterday.
I agree with you there....I have had an atp and CE550 type for about 6 yrs now, and I am still sitting right seat. Although, mostly from my own choice...I have thrown out a few apps only to see "Johnny GOODPILOT INTERN" get a job at a major with only maybe 500 total because daddy worked at said airline.
