Default international jumpseat procedure

I know we can't "cockpit jumpseat" on international flights but can jumpseat with a seat in the cabin. As I've jumpseated many times I haven't done this international and most of the people I ask give conflicting answers of what to do and even whether it can be done at all. So if anyone out there knows the proper procedure so as to not get hassled and rejected please help me out. Sounds like the procedures change by the day from what I here and just want to know the best way to do this.

Thanks

From the "other" board:

Quote:
1-CAL and XJT can JS and MAY occupy a PASSENGER seat on all international OUTBOUND or INBOUND flights on either airline. (Sit in the back and JS all you want anywhere)
Answer from JS Coordinator: Correct.

No, only on XJT. We cannot sit in the cockpit on a CAL flight outbound FROM the US.

3-CAL and XJT can JS and MAY NOT occupy a COCKPIT seat on all OUTBOUND international flights on either airline.
Correct.

Charles,

I jumpseat across the pond regularly and it really is no big deal. Just present yourself to the gate agent as you would domestically, fill out the same form and then wander down the jetway to beg for passage. The tricky part can be getting back as the foreign gate agents/ticket counter people seem to get stuck with the procedure.

If your going to LGW you should be ok. I have the cal people well trained there now! As for American out of LHR, it`s a little messed up as they say you can`t but after some persuasion they`ll let you. I`d personally avoid it if you can.

Sometimes they`ll try looking you up in the CASS system but it`ll deny you because XJT isn`t in the system. If riding CAL, just have them bring up your JA profile and that`ll smooth things over.

Hope this helps........

Again, from the "other" board:

Can we jumpseat on other US carriers or Air Canada in the cabin back to the states? or must we buy a zone fare?
Answer from Jumpseat Coordinator: Yup on Air Canada.........call and ask to be listed for the jumpseat....I'm not sure of the number, their captains need to have you listed in order to have the proper paperwork.

As far as other carriers everyone except American should take you. You will still need to pay the departure taxes.

Just to clarify - I think that 3rd quote should be MAY NOT occupy cockpit on all INBOUND international flights on either airline. - (as opposed to outbound)

Default CASS

If/When we become part of CASS, will that satify the TSA/DHS ACM reporting requirements so we can sit in the cockpit internationaly again?

From what I understand, international jumpseat is available, but only if the jumpseater's employment and passport info is given to the TSA 24 hours prior to arrival in the US, but our current computer system doesn't support this requirement.

Can you only pay for the ID 90's with only cash or do they take the card.

Also whats the best way to get ahold of Steve McKnight.

Thanks
