The primary reason for this post is to help carry this worthless debate to 1000 replies. Therefore what I say should be considered as worthless as the majority of the replies in the useless debate.

So here goes:

Everyone go to your respective corners and mind your own business. If I don't believe in God or Gods, or whatever WHO CARES! Mind your own business. If you believe in God or whatever else and want to go to church each and every day. WHO CARES! I won't try to push my beliefs on you and you should not try to push your beliefs on me.

Those who are religious should take a step back and look at all of the death and harm organized religion has played on the earth in the past, present (think Iraq and Africa), and the future. God must either be laughing or crying when he sees the stupidity that is carried out on a daily basis in his/her name.

So everyone shut the f$ck up already and just try to respect each other for our differences.

I will inevitably regret adding to this worthless thread so I will sum up with.

Mind your own business, go out and do something to improve our society, and leave religion and politics at your front door. Oh and I like unicorns!

Guess you missed the first line in my post! Never said anything about charities. How about Muslims killing Jews? Different Muslim sects killing each other. Same BS in Africa. I didn't lay into organized religion. I just said maybe they should take a step back and look at what organized religion has done throughout history. Not saying YOUR organized religion, if you have one, is bad. Not sure why you dragged in the Christian charity thing. Oh well. I still like Unicorns and now only 17 posts to go to 1000!

PS: It wasn't a rant. So everyone mind your own business.

Please reply so we can make it to under 16 to go to 1000.

I would assume that for you to mind your own business, you have to stay off this thread. And I don't think this thread is going to convince anyone of anything. Just a way to kill the tiime and swap ideas. Anyone who takes it as more than that is wasting theirs and everyone elses time

in 2006, $295 billion was given to charity. of that, $96 billion, a VERY respectable number, but a MINORITY was donated to religious organizations and charities.

When disaster strikes, the government and organizations like the red cross come to help. neither is religious. (the red cross's name and symbol relate to medicine, not religion) I'm not discounting the help offered by religious organizations, but you should you exagurate their benefit or exclusivity.

all the good religion does would still be done without religion. and it doesn't make up for all the bad religion does, not all of which would still be done without religion.

I'd have to look at all 99 pages, but to my recollection, no one from the belief side has yet admitted that the answer is no, or that it even could be no. we know you can have faith, which means belief without proof. but that's not the question.
