Good point Yariv. Actually, great point Yariv.

With respect to a lot of religious people, many don’t feel a need to ignore knowledge or compete with scientific discoveries. Many religious people are able to do just what you describe… coexist.

Spirituality needs to fit in the space left by science – and there is space. I certainly don't believe science will ever be able to answer the big "whys?" Why are we here? Why do we live? Why do we die?

Most nonreligious people have no problem with religion trying to give insight into the big “whys?” Just leave the big "hows" up to science.

Even if my Mom says I have germs, I'm not going to wash my hands because my science proves they don't exist.

??????

Is is getting that lame to argue for religion when we're equating it to a three year old arguing with his mom?

Christians believe Jesus IS God.

Waaay back in the early parts of this thread I mentioned an easy way to think of the Trinity for those who were curious.

The Trinity consists of Jesus, God and The Holy Spirit. Many falsely suggest this implies three deities. But, they are all one and the same.

It's not 1 + 1 + 1 = 3. It's 1 X 1 X 1 = 1.

Then why are we debating intelligent design in our court systems? Every scientific discovery that goes against the bible (and many of them do) is being "disproven" by so- called "fellow scientists", their works injected into the doctrine of the evangelical world, which then uses this as an argument that science is wrong on message boards like this.

If Intelligent design is going to be taught in Public Schools (some of them are), then churches should start their sessions with "Things the Bible could be wrong, because their is science proves otherwise" in order to maintain their tax free status.

Paul

Oh and, If we are all God's children, what is so special about Jesus?
I.D. is crap and last year a judge that Bush appointed in Pennsylvania told a school board they couldn't use I.D. as a competing theory to Evolution. (**** activist judges! )

I'll take your argument one step further. I'll let a school board come and try and teach my kids about I.D. in science class when they allow us to go to church on Sunday and debate their B.S.

It sounds absurd which is my point. ID has not business mixed with science and that's why many in science won't debate it. Not because they can't, but because it's foolish and lends cridibility to nonsense.

Nice analogy. Here is another one. Like water, God is in three different "forms". Water can be in a solid, liquid, or gaseous state yet is still H2O. Like water, God exhibits different traits through each different "form" - The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

As many of you have so clearly illustrated you will always be able to find faults, contradictions, hypocrisy, etc. in any person that claim to be a "Christ-follower". Those that are seriously examing the Christian faith please judge Jesus on Jesus Himself, not those that claim to follow Him.

Quite a nice motto Yariv. Ironically, after reading through 26 pages of this thread I find that those who don't believe in an established religion or faith, Christianity in particular, are the very ones who have made very condescending, insulting, and intolerant posts.

"Those that are seriously examing the Christian faith please judge Jesus on Jesus Himself, not those that claim to follow Him."

That's hard to do since everything we know about "Jesus" was written by someone else.
