How is that germane here, exactly?
This isn't about rights. We all understand that we can believe whatever we choose.
This is a debate. Goodoledays is stating his case, I'm disagreeing with him. I think his arguments are poor that he sounds like a preacher-doesn't mean I don't respect him or his rights.

So, what kind of proof are you looking for?
Also, if I can prove God's existence to you are you willing to accept Jesus' life, death, and resurrection as payment for your rebellion against God? I ask this because there's a difference between proving to and persuading someone. Proof of God's existence exists as much as proof of your existence exists. You're willing to be persuaded of your own existence with or without proof. Are you willing to be persuaded of God's existence WITH PROOF? If so, tell me what type of proof you require.

I don't require proof-hell-maybe I don't exist. I've said this before-give me a good enough reason to believe and I will. I am willing to be persuaded. What constitutes good enough? Don't know-I'm hoping I'll know it when I see it. So far, though, it looks like I won't find it here on the crackpipe-every argument I've seen so far has been fairly easily refutable.

I'm not trying to push my beliefs on anyone-just engaging in healthy debate. This has been said many times before, but I've seen much more belief pushing from the believer camp than from the atheist side. However, the vast majority of this thread has been nothing more than spirited debate-not belief pushing. You don't like this thread, don't read or post on it. 144 pages-seems pretty popular to me.
Easy with the douche bag comments. Let's not go down that path.

I am not trying to push my belief's on anyone. Just questioning the reason for your belief. I used to be an athiest. I used to serve myself. I used to care nothing for anyone but me. I didnt care what I had said, did, or was planning on. Then back in June '03 someone told me more about God and Christ than I had ever known. That is when God showed Himself to me. It wasnt a feeling, an emotion, or an epiphany. Now I serve the Most High God. I seek nothing but Him. I am still being worked on and am by no means perfect. Yes, I did resign from Expressjet, but it does not disprove the fact that I once worked there.

This is the classic ignorant opinion or some religious people of an atheist-which isn't remotely true and has been discussed here in debth. It is amusing how religious folk think because they need the fear of hell and the devil to do good that everyone else does also. You need an old book full of fairy tales and scary things to live your life by, I just require common sense and good judgment. I'm happy i'm not a trembling little being scared of the big man looking down, and the evil man looking up. I'm happy I get out of bed in the morning without all that baggage to weigh me down.

Now I see where you get your impeckable disposition for logic and reason! I am full, but that does not disprove the fact that I was once hungry. Well, no shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! I am curious what tragedy and emotional breakdown you must have had to lead to a complete 180 with your beliefs..........or maybe with your mind it was inevitable.

Okay, the point was not well enough relayed on the resignation statement. Basically, that was a response to someone else saying, just because I dont work there anymore doesnt mean I cant still get on here and post/debate/respond/ect with some people I enjoyed working with. I dont fear hell, or death, or even the devil. God created the universe and He sustains it. He doesnt need me or you or anyone else to "help" Him. But it appears that I am throwing pearls before swine. As for me and what caused my beliefes? Do you really want to know? If you are seriously curious, I will share with you.

There is no need to hear your wonderful fairy tale love story with imaginary beings in the sky that look down on us and shoot lighting bolts at us when we are bad. I am pretty young so I think my reflexes are quick enough to dodge them so I will keep knowing there is no such thing in the sky. I have to ask though. How do you defy logic in your brain to believe in God. I am really curious.
