The last part of your post is exactly what people have been trying to make you see in this whole thread. Why don't you put down your bible for a little while and take a look at the way things really are?

Christians saying to read the bible as evidence that they are right about their PFM creationist theory is just the same as those travellers who have "faith" in airplanes staying in the air quoting some text which backs up their theory. We all know that's b/s. We all know they should be looking at a scientific aerodynamics textbook.

Why can't you see that what you're talking about with the bible being god's word is FANTASY, NOTHING MORE!! Just like an earlier poster said - it's christmas for grown-ups! And it's got you all fooled!!!!!! Not only does it have you all fooled, but you want all of us to become fooled as well!!!!!

To the person who claims that Noah really made an ark and really put 2 of every last one of the millions of species on earth and sailed them around for a while, because the whole world was flooded - can you really be serious??? Surely not, you must be kidding...

By the way, the easter bunny, tooth fairy, santa claus and the little mermaid all had a tea party at my grandmother's house last week. I read a book that said so....

Well, I guess we'll all find out on judgement day, and for some, it will be too late.

What do you want me to say, "I had Christ on the jumpseat the other day"? Swingline said it, there is no one way to sway one side or the other. You either take the Bible for what it's worth, or you disregard it's meaning and purpose.

Ya know, as I think more and more about this thread, this statement that has been said time and time again gets to me more and more. If God exists, and is the all loving and forgiving god that you all claim he is, on the day of my death I will confront him. Not only to explain my side of the story and tell "him" why I was a non-believer, but also to hear his side. Why did he do to me the things he did to cause me to no longer believe? Why did he put me and many of my loved ones thru so much pain and suffering? Why was it is "master plan" to create such chaos, hatred, and pain in this world?
If "he" can't then "forgive me" and tell me why, then I guess I wasn't meant to be there. But, since I no longer believe in "him" in the form I was force fed my entire life, I'm not too worried.

For someone who does not believe in God, you sure do blame him for a lot of things. Everyone has suffered loss and found solace in their faith. It is unfortunate that you could not.

As many have said, it comes down to faith. To argue the point really is useless and only further divides us even further which is quite evident by this thread. I wonder how many (on both sides) would have the balls to have this discussion and make the same comments if we were all sitting in a room together.

Good point Gavan, and I agree with ya. However, I think most of the guys we're arguing with don't believe in the Bible, so throwing verses out really doesn't make the case to them. They don't even think there's a heaven or hell, that the Bible and Christianity are man made fictional stories.

I guess the opposing side thinks that something just exploded and made this a perfect universe, or we all came from monkies...not real sure...what is your guys side? Where did we come from if there's "no God"?

I give up. Shizzle was right. YOu can't tell me that I have to believe to be saved if I think the bible is nothng but a 2000 year old book written by men who were intent on controling the masses. Sorry, but it doesn't pass the sniff test.
