No, nobody wants to be ruled by a minority Atheist religion. Get over yourself.
Where do you get from what I said that anyone wants to or should be ruled by Atheism (which, no matter how hard you blow, isn't a religion. It is a set of beliefs [or lack thereof], but not a religion)? Because I think that no religion should be mandated upon the people, you think that Atheism must then be? Just because religion shouldn't be tied into governments or public school science classes doesn't mean that I think that you shouldn't be allowed to go to church or practice your religion peacefully. I think a lack of that right would constitute being "ruled by a minority Atheist religion"...

I'll "get over" myself when you start making sense, thanks...

atheism is a belief. atheism is a religion.

Just as you don't like to be preached to by the religious right, don't get all hypocritical and preach you atheism religion on others.

Your inability to explain yourself speaks volumes. I will help you, first provide what definition you are using for Religion. This will help flesh out if you any argument at all. I hope you aren't equating belief with religion.

democrat is a belief. democrat is a religion.
repulican is a belief. republican is a religion.
alchemy is a belief. alchemy is a religion.
loch ness monster is a belief. loch ness monster is a religion.
xxxxxx is a belief. xxxxxx is a religion.

I haven't seen any one preach atheism. This entire thread is just philosophical arguments for and against God. This thread was quite good until it hit the 1000 reply mark then went downhill fast.

Nope. It's like if you argued anarchy is not a political system. And it doesn't really matter where you place atheism beliefs. The fact remains we are a Christian leaning nation with federal holidays of Christmas and Easter.

Anarchy is a economic and political system. Atheist only share one thing in common there is no God (which is some) or those that don't bother to believe do to lack of evidence (which is some). It's like claiming agnosticism is a religion, when it isn't. I was trying to get some sort of argument about the relation between atheism and religion out of Stan to no avail.

Skiy everybody here understands that the US is a Christian majority. You are beating the point to death. We have federal holidays of Christmas and Easter which is attributed to the Christian majority, however we don't have an official state religion. As long as the 1st amendment holds up we won't ever. Your point has been understood.

Things were going well in this thread. Now there is a whole bunch of people claiming everybody is trying to convert each other. Isn't it fairly obvious nobody has changed their beliefs from this thread. Drop it already.

Sorry, but that's comical. Who made you God of this thread. "Drop it already". I'd rather die and go to heaven. And recognizing the two primary holidays of the majority religion in this country is about as close to an official state religion as one can get. The question is not whether we should have separation of church and state, but rather to what extent.
