It was a joke (the whole not hearing anything from the company . . . etc)

Please forgive me for such a strong reference that can never be compared to anything as relatively trivial as a job. I agree that we need to go to work and do a good job. My point is that just going to work and doing a good job is not enough. Though I will continue to work hard and give the customer the best possible product I can, I will not be one of the band members playing as the ship goes down. I’m going to try to fix the leak, or if that doesn’t work, I’m getting off the boat as prepared as I possibly can. In other words, I’m going to keep myself informed (as best I can, considering), work with my fellow employees to help in any way possible, and have a plan B in my hip pocket just in case I’m told to get off the ship.

Here's your answer directly from the source (XJT.com):
"Have a safe and happy Fourth of July."

Does that clarify things?

Bryan's nailed it. I still say it's a slap-in-the-face to affected XJT employees.

(It's like Willie Randolph going all the way out to California, and then getting fired, except those 'displaced' won't have the $5.65 Million to console them. They just have to figure out how to pay the mortgage. Oh yeah. I forgot - they don't even know when or how to plan for such a thing. Let's not forget the "minor" issue of telling the employees directly that "things have changed"...)

A large number of 'Directors' and 'Managers'.
This is a HUGE problem at this company...So many mid level "managers and directors" who don't add anything to the company but sit around letting everyone know how great they are, build their little empires and drain this company of resources...Ream and company need to reverse this and put a stop to it immediately...!!!

If the company wants to save money, it should start in this area...

And while they are at it, get rid of Lodge X...That has to be another waste of money....

You'd think with the apparent monitoring on this website by management that someone would have seen 22 PAGES of disgruntled "employees" looking for some sort of official word and put something on XJT.com. Someone must be working this weekend besides us, right?

F#ck Hitler and work will never make me free. You are forgiven.

PS: Most people on here are too stupid to even know what you are referring to. For those that are too stupid cut and paste Arbeit macht frei into Google or your favorite search engine.

Where you went wrong is in the assumption that there is management working this weekend.

This was bound to happen. With the merger and everything going on in the industry, Delta wants to keep all the flying in property. That is the reason for the Mesa law suit and for this happening to XJT. The flying will be awarded to Comair. I hope for you guys that CAL buys XJT for their convinience and your job security. It is in their best interest to rescue XJT.

I think what will come out at the road show is an answer that goes something like this ~ we had planned to release the information at the same time as Delta, however unknown to us at the time, Delta decided to release it earlier and didn't inform us ~ That being said I am sure they found out around 3pm Thursday afternoon (at the very least by word of mouth) and XJT should have released something at that time to their very concerned employees. I will be working during the Road Show in ONT I hope the Q&A they post includes all the questions asked and will not be edited so that we all hear/read the answers! My positive side is hoping they will back this bad news up w/some REALLY GOOD news, that maybe couldn't be released to us until Monday due to confidentiality w/another company, I know highly unlikely but you never know and hope has gotten me thru the long weekend!
