Happy 4th of July everyone...

I woke up this morning, nothing on ccs. I get an e-mail dated yesterday but arrives this morning....

Ya, I expect more from the company and ALPA. I understand ups and downs of the industry but - It was bad form.

Ease up on Kboy, he's a good guy....

Yeah, he's alright... he just has to stop getting outraged so bloody easily, it makes me nervous. When he said "then leave!!" i had this image in my mind of a little 6 year old girl screaming at the top of her lungs

On the positive side, nobody's been more relieved that their base trade was stolen than I am right now... I'd have been on my first LA based 4 day as we speak. Phew, that would have been a PITA!

Default LAX memories

In the 3 years + I've been here the time I spent in LAX was the most enjoyable (over CLE, IAH and IAH again!). I love flying the west coast!! Great overnites, great crews, etc. Flying for DL and their culture was a great change over CAL as well!!

But grab your balls boys and hold on!! Our company is going to come to us for concessions now!! Like Nancy Regan told us when we were kids about drugs, "JUST SAY NO!"

I'm going to be giving JR 1/2 my salary when I am pushed back to the right seat! I plan on "giving" no more. Anyone who considers "helping" the company by giving up pay or beneifits is a giant vagina and should have the a$$ kicked in the employee lot!! We voted in LOA 8 with a 2 year extension through 2010 at mgmts request to "stabalize" the company. That may now be the best move we could have ever made. Lets stand behind it and honor it and make mgmt do the same! It is not the pilots' fault that poor planning/marketing or whatever you want to call it cost the company $70 million last year. Stand strong and ALPA needs to do the same!!

I feel for those of you on the west coast!! It does suck!! And our management from Asst Chief Pilot to J.R. need to be ashamed of themselves for allowing the announcement to be made this way. I'm on reserve on an overnite over the holiday while those working banker hours are living it up at the country club?? It makes me sick, don't act like you care about us and want straight talk and direct truth from us and then treat us like your illegal mexican yard boy!!

Take pay cuts, don't take pay cuts....I could really give a shiit. The company is going to achieve cost saving ONE WAY or ANOTHER. That is a fact. They have to or we WILL BE OUT OF BUISNESS. It's simple accounting. I'm not trying to come down on you as this attitude it prevelant in many, but come on.....LOOK AT THE FACTS! Keep an open mind and take the emmotion out of it.

Steve...a lot of guys are going to be out of a job, going back to the right seat (big pay decrease) and then a pay cut on top of it. Basically going back to barely livable wages, sure nobody should live beyond their means but it still sucks going back to scrapping along. Those senior enough to keep the left seat even with a pay decrease will still be way better off.

So if a guys wants to vent and say F-No to a pay cut....so be it. I agree the company will have to save money one way or another, but don't come looking to me or the guy getting downgraded cause they're already taking a 40% cut, and the guys going back onto reserve are going to feel the pinch too. From your position you'll have very little change either way, I get it. You'll have less $ in your pocket but it won't be a total lifestyle change like it will be for many.

u drive multi-million $ airplanes and can't spell, welcome to the club and Easy on the logic you might hurt somebody

Happy 4th bitches, Boom and Bust is the way we play this game. I'm an LAX CA and it just made my decision easier (granted I've been an IAD commuter starting with EWR-SAT-LAX). I see Terminal A with 70s carpet in my future. Just another blip on the life terminal. THis sucks but we are taking our meds as we've had a 2 yr blissful vacation out west. THis could've been our reality 2 yrs ago. So our $300 million vacation is over, time to go back to work. Out west really was nice, sucks if you moved. Hugs and Kisses

Good point, easy to say if you are senior and a displacement/furlough isn't going to affect YOU.

Easy there TIger the old heads have seen this many times before, no matter what its your/our turn. Seniority is immaterial the Help wanted section is around the corner, no one forced you to work in the worst industry. Your crying is making me want to drink. This is the game and these are the rules. If you want empathy call your loved ones.

Steve, I've had a lot of respect for you in the past... but with this attitude you certainly won't be working in the union for very long. The last thing we need is for someone to sell us out. With all due respect, you need to move on man. Emirates is hiring.

Its this kind of attitude that is driving our profession into the ground. Pilot pay is not a commodity like oil... I've said it before.
