I'm not claiming 100% that i know god doesn't exist... I'm stating that I am PRETTY SURE that he doesn't exist. I don't think anyone at all who's participating in this debate and who takes my point of view has said categorically that there is DEFINITELY NO GOD. All we're saying is that we would like some evidence if you're going to change any of our minds and make us see things the way you do. If I believed in the flying spaghetti monster, and I wanted you to as well... don't you think you'd want to see some evidence? If I couldn't provide you with evidence then you'd probably just think i was full of ****.

Now, as far as my evidence goes for thinking that there's no god... I feel that I can adequately explain most things in the world around me SCIENTIFICALLY. Not everything, but MOST things. And I feel that what we can't fully explain now we are getting closer to being able to explain. 1000 years ago people thought that thunder was god displaying his wrath. People thought that a diseased person contained 'evil spirits', and that the earth was flat, and the centre of the universe. Science has now explained these things, and more and more mysteries continue to be unraveled every day. I for one find this much more exciting than I would if i just had the blind belief that god created everything and that was that. Truly you're missing out on so much of life! So, I say again... do I have categorical proof that there's no god?? NO. But I think there's a much more accurate way of explaining this amazing world we live in than just by saying that this book of stories that was written by some DUDES a couple of thousand years ago contains all the answers.

Stan that's probably the stupidest thing I've heard all year. I really hope you're more intelligent than that or else you must have slipped through the cracks and really shouldn't be trusted to fly aeroplanes.

Wow here we go for another 130 pages, yippee.

Anyways, stan our proof of no god is the fact there is not evidence to say there is a god. Your lack of proof shows why we are correct in our thinking. Do you believe airplanes can fly, do you believe that cars can drive 300 mph, do you believe that people float in space, do you believe the moon revolves around the earth, do you believe that UFO's exists, do you believe that the earth is round, and do you believe there is snow at the north pole. Of course most of the population believes in most of these except maybe UFOs. Why is that, because they have not seen them for themselves. Kind of like nobody has seen god or seen evidence of his existence.

By the way, I like how you guys quote the bible as evidence to his existence when most of the bible is a rip off of other religions. The whole story of Jesus with his birth and death are copied mostly word for word from other more ancient religions. What is even funnier is the story follows the normal patterns of the stars which in the times the bible was written is what a lot of people used to measure the months and years as they past. Point being your only source or point of evidence is a copy of other religions that believed in other types of gods. Makes you wonder why you are being so naive.

One last question, if god is all powerful, created this world, and can change it when he needs why does he need so much money. Is he that terrible at his finances. If that is the case maybe we should not be following this god, maybe we can choose one of the other gods that people believe in that is less needy of money because gas is costing way to much lately.

Hello to all. Microbiology might be shedding some light on the human body and the exsisting God. A little bitty molecule called LAMININ (its basically the glue that holds pretty much every living thing together). Have a look for yourself.

Laminin-1 is a heterotrimeric glycoprotein consisting of three different laminin chains, 1, 1 and 1 (Figure 4A; Burgeson et al., 1994). To map the agrin-binding site in laminin-1, we measured binding of the agrin fragment cN25Fc, which has been shown to be sufficient for binding (Denzer et al., 1997), to native laminin-1 and to the proteolytic fragments depicted in Figure 4A. Laminin-1 and its proteolytic fragments were immobilized on microtiter plates and incubated with 5 nM iodinated cN25Fc. As reported earlier, cN25Fc bound to laminin-1 (Figure 4B) but, of all the laminin fragments used, binding was only seen to the C8-9, but not to E1, E8 or E3 fragments (Figure 4B). This finding restricts the site of interaction between agrin and laminin-1 to the N-terminal half of the coiled-coil domain of laminin-1.

Figure 4
The N-terminal agrin fragment binds to the three-stranded, coiled-coil domain of laminin-1. (A) Structural organization of laminin-1 (Ln) and of proteolytic fragments derived from laminin-1 by elastase treatment (E1, E3 and E8; dotted boxes) and by cathepsin G treatment (C8-9; shaded box) are shown. (B) Solid-phase radioligand-binding assay demonstrating the binding of the N-terminal agrin fragment to laminin-1 and to the fragments depicted in (A). Laminin-1 and its fragments were immobilized on microtiter plates and subsequently incubated with 5 nM [125I]cN25Fc. Each value is the mean SD of three measurements and represents binding after subtraction of the counts to bovine serum albumin-coated wells (61 7 c.p.m.).

Electron microscopic structure of agrin and mapping of its binding site in laminin-1 (this is a diagram)

Electron microscopic structure of agrin and mapping of its binding site in laminin-1 (this is one of the many explanations of laminin)

I even made sure to take this from a non religous or christian related site so that everyone might open his eyes a bit. Just be honest with yourself when you see this picture. What does it look like to you?

Collossians 1:17 And He is before all things, and by him all things consist.

I find it amazing that the very cell that holds every cell in our bodies together is in the exact same shape as the cross.

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

now I know how people see the virgin mary in a potato chip..........
let me guess, chromosomes are just bent crosses??? Blood cells are halos?

I was refering specifically to laminin being in every LIVING thing as the "glue". Not a dried up greasy potato chip sighting. Could it be possible that it is more like a patent from the Creator that has known everything since before the foundations of the world were created?

Well I appreciate your efforts in trying to put something tangible on the table for us to look at. I'm at a bit of a loss to understand how the point you make proves that there is a god, but at least you're not just quoting bible verses like some others... thank you

by the way, how does the fact that the structure of agrin resembling a cross have anything to do with anything? don't you think it might just be a coincidence? You're still clutching at straws if you're trying to say that because one protein molecule is shaped like a cross prove the existence of god.
