I agree. If JR was the problem, he'd be gone by now. I haven't given up that we still have something in the works. Who knows, by this time next year we probably won't even remember this SKW thing.

I will stick with my previous idea that Ream should have just bit his tongue and bargained with Continental. He needs to put his beef with Larry aside and do the right thing for the employees and not for himself, if he really cares.

The ERAU antics around this place have to stop or there will not be an Expressjet.

(had to get a ERAU crack in there somewhere)
I really don't believe that is the case. Yah, Ream may not like LK, but the fact of the matter is Cal wanted another carrier. Even if we offered the flying for free, LK was going to use another carrier anyways. If Ream didn't care, he would said to CAL, here have the 69 aircraft.

Unfortunately, now high fuel prices is hurting us, but it's also hurting all the airlines.

Take a look at Ream's contract...He will leave, no matter the circumstance either fired or resigns, with a couple of million dollars, pass travel on CAL for life and medical and dental for life....And let's not forget he already makes $600K a year and has for many years...Now, just what does he have to lose...??

[quote=rightwinger;242611]I couldn't agree more. I'm tired of getting peed on from Jim and Larry's pissing contest. I'm just a ticket/gate/ramp agent but I love my job and I hate to see this happening. I was with CAL since 86 then went to Coex so I could stay in MKE. I for one am praying for this Skywest deal to go through so I don't have to start over at some other airline or get some stinking office job. It's a shame how the CAL/Coex relationship has deteriorated. It didn't have to be like this.

Be careful what you wish for

WE WILL BE DISMANTLED BY SKYWEST IF THEY BUY US! LOTS OF FURLOGHS! LOSS OF AIRCRAFT!

You will probabley loose your job and have to start over anyway if we merge depending on your seniority. If this deal goes through it will be catostrophic for our pilot group.

My understanding is that coex would be run as a separate entity, not merged and basically things would remain as they are with the exception of branded flying. If I'm not mistaken thats how they handled ASA.

The Pilot Contract requires that the companies merge. If they wish to operate us separately, Skywest would have to convince pilots to vote out the "Scope Clause." There has been no such vote as of yet. ASA did not have our scope clause.

While that is more money than I will ever make, it is far below the Major Airline CEO average. Also, I'm pretty sure I remember reading that JR has not taken a major bonus since 2001. Let's also not forget that our Exec.'s compensation would not have changed much if they had given CAL back the first 69 jets. They could have easily said "Here, take your planes, we'll furlough 700 pilots, no skin off our back." Instead they tried to make something work out of a Charlie Foxtrot.
I'm not trying to blow smoke, just making an argument for JR, GS, etc.

Besides, what benefit would be realized by merging the lists? When you buy a new toy the last thing you want to do is take it apart and possibly break it.
Please do yourself and the rest of the pilot group a favor and read pages 223-226 of your consolidated contract and you will know why people are commenting about your post. Also...that way..when your MEC does put it to a vote..you know what it is all about.

Ditto...
It seems that very few people know what our scope actually includes.
