Default Skywest and EMB170

fart'n around on willflyforfood.com to see what sorta crappy pay rates they have and noticed the CRJ700/900 column now includes EMB170 as well. I don't remember ever seeing that in the past, did they make an announcement, acquire another airline or did I miss something here? Not that I believe everything I read on websites but thought it was interesting. A little help please.

Supposed to be for Southwest Airlines... From what I was told by a few of there crews they are going to fly them starting in 2009. They were suppose to start in 2008 but SWA held off due to fuel costs. They said maybe in 2009 but they want to see what happens.

Maybe thats why they want us so bad to get there hands on our options???

OMG please no........ Hopefully Southwest pilots would be smarter than letting that happen.

SWAPA would never allow SWA flights to be flown by anyone other then SWA pilots.

Ya, but that sounds like some crazy 'ol rumor. Would a rumor be good enough for the people at willflyforfood.com to indicate a pay rate for the EMB170 for SKW? I would think they would go off of better info, maybe press releases rather than crazy rumors. Guess I should check the pay rates for mesa on that site and see what an airbus CA makes then.

When ASA got their contract ratified earlier this year and the SkyWest pilot group "coincidentally" got a pay raise as well, they added that on there.

I wouldn't read too much into it. When UAL was in Ch.11 and they got their stellar 700/900 rates, they also got a 737 rate added into their pay scale. It was a back up in case UAL decided to can them and they wanted to try their own deal.

Heh, had a SkyWest pilot in the jumpseat the other day and they get a $1 override for flying the 70 seater vs. 50 seater. WTF??!!!

Unhappy

Talked with a Skywest pilot yesterday...they're chompin' at the bits to buys us. Said that our QOL will be tenfold better if we get bought out and get rid of the contract stuff. He said after all "we're non-union and it works for us"! Sounds to me like something's going on behind closed doors. Looks like CAL would get some of the planes back...SKYWEST would take the Branded routes that are doing well for themselves. Just my opinion which isn't worth much!
