I would believe so.

I don't beleive that anything will happen to your jobs. ASA went through this same thing a few years ago and they actually benefitted from it in a form of a good contract. In Fact they are still hiring. As for the amount of time, again when ASA did this it went pretty fast. Skywest, from what I heard, would love to have our branded operation. They to do a few flight on their own but they have to let delta or united do all of their reservation becasue they dont have the program from it, but we do. I dont beleive we will lose any flying and with the possiblity of Mesa leaving us, we could actually get more flying from United and US airways. The only thing that Skywest would get before we would is the bigger airplanes, who cares. Captains might also take a small 3 dollar pay cut when we renew our contract. I would be willing to give that up to keep our pilots off the street. Conpare the wages at Airlinepilotcentral. The FO pay is a mirror image for the CRJ200 compared to ours. Skywest pilots can't bid for ASA line and vice versa. Change is always hard guys but if this happens it is not going to be that bad or atleast as bad as it would be if Cal took another 51 planes. The 51 less planes means about 500 less pilots....For all you captains out there that whine about sh1t you can't change, just keep doing your job the correct way. i.e. Single engine taxi, logo light.

I know a few ASA guys and one just told me that it was basicly a seemless transition, that SKYW had all parts on the board before the announcment of the buyout and if anything ASA got a long term deal with Delta that they had been wraggling over for months. If we gotta get bought I prefer skyw over Chataqua of some other guys out there. Looks like ASA's new TA just got approved and is pretty close to our current contract. I have no doubt that LK went to skywest and said here is a long term deal, just please buy these guys and get ride of this JR guy, I hate him and will never giver him another CPA, he makes fun of my lisp!

Didn't Ream mention SKYW on one of the calls, saying they have ben talking to CAL for months about buying us?

The ASA guys I talked to said it was not a good deal, their flying was taken and transferred over to SkyWest, however it is also my understanding that ASA in their contract with SkyWest came up with a deal that if any airplanes are transferred between company lines, the pilots go with them, we would need that in writing as well

The truth is that absolutely NO ONE on this message board knows what is going to happen to your job. If I could be so bold as to make a suggestion: don't panic, don't let it keep you up nights. Try to keep yourself informed via OFFICIAL channels (ie, the Company and the Union) as much as you can....the 'pipe is not a good way to keep informed, it's for entertainment purposes only.

Just keep doing your job to the best of your ability and keep a cool head.

your answer is pretty much what i was looking for. thanks for answering!!
