Angry careless driving in jersey after accident

i went to pick up my fiancé at the local train station and in the parking lot there is a two parking spot cut through blocked off for people to swing around to the other side. SO i went through these two parking spaces like everyone else, came to a stop, went forward like 4 feet and slammed on the brakes. There was an elderly Indian man with a dazed look driving about 35mph down the lane and he didn’t swerve, didn’t brake, just sat their with a look of idiocy. he slammed into my passenger side bumper/lights (i have jeep grand Cherokee) and he had a Honda civic which had the lights, front drivers quarter panel, and a bit of his door demolished. My car was drivable and his was not due to his fender being on his tire. SO the cop shows up , this guy doesn't speak English, wasn't wearing his eyeglasses at the time of the accident, and has no idea what is going on. The cop seemed fine and we just wanted a police report taken. Due to his speed, his lack of eyeglasses, and the fact that I know I really couldn't have done anything differently to avoid the accident. I was under the impression it was going to be 50/50 fault but two days later i get a ticket in the mail for "careless driving." It is a two point ticket in jersey and i talked to the cop who said "look we had to give someone a ticket and the person on the left is usually to blame. our investigation showed that you were most likely to blame. come into court and i will take care of it for you".

I know it is crap anyway. I know I can show up in court and get it knocked down to no points and just a fine on my own. Don’t act like a hero and try to save the day for doing the same BS i can do on my own. I am pissed that the cop didn’t tell me that night he was charging me with something. Will my insurance have to pay for this guy’s car? I am pretty sure it was a couple grand worth of repairs for him. My car is patched up better then new for 140 bucks and a trip to the junkyard.

SO how much is a no points ticket going to suck when trying to get on with another airline?

pissed

Default car accidents

Car Accident Statistics, Stats, Auto, Fatal, Drunk Driving

I can't believe the media gets all worked up when a plane skids off the runway or makes an emergency landing for a medical problem. Almost 43,000 Americans die each year on the road yet people are afraid to fly.

Why is it so easy to get a drivers license? Why is there no additional training required after you get your license? Why don't people have to prove every so often they are medically fit to drive? I wonder how many people could pass that joke of an exam you take to get your license if they were asked.

I'd be much more concerned about the legal liability of you being found at fault. Think someone will tell him to consult a lawyer? Oh.......a PILOT caused this accident? See where I'm a goin!

As a lawyer I will tell you, get one, this guy will show with a back problems as soon as he realizes the cops have given you the blame!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen this scam a million times, you will pay much more in premiums and he will get a check from your insurance company, go get a lawyer and makes sure your side is heard, otheriwse you are going to get bent over, believe me, it happens!!!!!!!!
