Hi all, I went to go visit Aaron yesterday he looks good his voice is getting stronger and he is in good spirits. In a few weeks he will go through a round of radiation that he will have to be in the house alone for a few days. He and his wife a very thankful for all of the donations that were given and they say Mike Flood has really been helpful. I'll probably check on him again in a couple days and keep everyone posted.

Hey Guys,

Looks like we got paid our on time bonus, since it's not really money we count on or expect (unless you're a first year f/o), maybe we can donate a portion or what ever you feel in your hearts.

Great Odin's Raven you're right!

I kicked in $35. They sound like very good people that need a little help.
If nothing else he can have a beer on me. Or two, or three, or mini keg...

Can't recall ever meeting him, but it seems like a great cause. $50 sent.

Pony up some dough MFers! Lets help his family out in their time of need.

Aaron I don't know you but I wish you a speedy road to recovery and hope to see you back at work soon.

Just donated $50. Hopefully there's a lot of other guys donating as well so we can give this guy's family a meaningful amount of money to really help them out.

Best wishes mate, keep your chin up.

We are doing fairly well so far.

Aaron is recovering from surgery and although his voice has been effected, it is not as bad as we feared. We were informed that his cancer was at a Stage 3 (on a scale of 1-5), which is still treatable, but more advanced than we had hoped for. Because of this, he'll have to go through beam radiation daily for 6 weeks as well as taking radioactive iodine. Hopefully treatment will be concluded in early June. Currently Aaron is radioactive and sequestered in our home because he is not allowed within six feet of other people for a few more days.

On the good side, Aaron hit his one year mark with XJ and is now eligible for FMLA time. Huge thanks to CP Mike Flood for helping us make this happen! Also, we managed to track down a local oncologist who is a former military flight surgeon and holds a current CMEL. Having someone on our team who is familiar with FAA reg's and processes has been a great help to us.

Many, many thanks to all of the people who donated to our paypal account. Hopefully each of you received our emails. The financial help has been invaluable in helping us meet all of our co-pays and non-covered costs. We were truly suprised at the generosity of the pilot group here at XJ. We appreciate all of the good thoughts, emails and phone calls that have come our way.

Kim Ward

Aaron never flew with you but I think I probably talked to you while killing time in ONT. Tough break, cancer sucks. I sent $35 your way, best of luck.
