Well I am irritated at myself for even responding to an anonymous keyboard warrior but here goes.

Why? This is not what ALPA recommends.
Reference: ALPA Legal:
C - Your Group Insurance
When you run out of sick pay and vacation pay, your CPO will put you on leave of absence. The initial leave is normally Family Medical Leave for the first 90 days.
This clearly states you go on leave (FMLA) after you have used all of your sick pay and vacation pay.

No it's not. This is exactly what ALPA recommends. Reference above taken directly from ALPA legal.

Object all you want. A pilot is not required (I don't think) to use all sick time before FMLA but it is what is recommended.

No.

If you're going to come on here and act all holier than thou like you do when you play grammar cop A) At least have your sh!t straight before you call me out and B) Man up and sign your name. My intent was only to try to help the guy out. If I am wrong (and I am a lot) about something well woops. Like I said I was just trying to help the guy and of course in my first post said a call to ALPA would be in order.
