Default Military time

I am putting together an application for XJT. Is there a military time conversion that XJT uses? I searched the website and had no luck.

Take care,

Taylor

Default military time

I added .3 per sortie. Went back and logged all solo events as PIC / and all duals as SIC. I just typed up a letter to explain all the times.

Ditto, because I was the only "FAA" licensed pilot in the airplane, I felt very justified in defending myself as PIC.

The last I knew, Southwest allows adding .3 per sortie and FEDEX allows adding .2 per sortie. XJT has not stated that they allow any military conversion. If you have met your military commitment, you have met the minimums for XJT. Just use your Form 5 and tell the truth. Most likely you will get hired. Try to pad your logbook, and...well...good luck.

I just submitted my application. I added the .3 per sortie. I followed your advice and put PIC for my solo time and team ride. All other time was SIC. I didn't put any of my sim time on the application since I can't count it towards flight time. Did any of you put it on yours? Hopefully, I'll be flying with some of you sometime soon. I'm just finishing up my initial qual in the kc-135. Had some flight time previous to going to UPT.

Later,

Taylor

Taylor, you reserves or guard?

You may want to call pilot recruiting and ask. Personally, I wouldn't add anything to the time. Let them add it. They're hiring with 500TT/100ME right now. You don't know if they do .3 per sortie, .2, etc... Taking it upun yourself to add it is, well, I don't want to say "arrogant", but you know what I mean. Unless you've called pilot recruiting and confirmed, I would leave the time the way it is. They'll know you're in the military and see what kind of aircraft you've flown. I know the Airline Apps site CAL uses allows you to enter how many military sorties you've flown and it probably calculates it for you using their criteria. For those that have added .3 per sortie, have you been through an interview/gotten hired without them saying anything about it?

Also, could you explain your rationale for logging military student time as SIC time? I've logged mine as "dual" unless it was solo. Everything after my Form 8 ride in the KC135 I've logged as SIC and of course "other" time is worthless. I just can't see how it makes sense to log SIC in a T-6/T-37, which isn't a crew aircraft by type. The T-1, maybe, but it's still "iffy" whether you're SIC or not.

I goofed I didn't log it as SIC, I logged it as dual. I'll give HR a call and clarify the military time. I will still have the 500/100 regardless so hopefully they'll give me an interview. I'm in the Guard (Utah) and will be commuting from SLC.

Yeah, dual makes more sense. I'm AD right now, but will be Palace Chase'ing to the guard in the near future.

Give them a call, if you have anything over the mins they are going to like you, I found the interview process to be very pro military, even got a second chance from one of the CP after I was a little unfamiliar with some of the Jepps materials. Good Luck.
