Default What to pack/bring to training?

Hey all! New guy here hired May 16th for the June 12th class. Just curious about how to pack and what to bring with me for training. I understand the dress code for training is business casual so polo's and khakis/dress slacks. Should I pack for appx seven days and plan on going home on the weekends or if I have to stay a weekend doing laundry at the hotel? Also, I will have my laptop case in which I can carry the usual pencil's, pen's, highlighter's...etc. Will it be necessary to bring my flight bag with me also? Headset for any reason? Just want to pack adequately, but at the same time, minimize the amount of "stuff" that i bring. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

you are on the right track.. no need for a headset. pack for 5-7 days and plan on going home during the weekends or when you have a couple days off. They have a few laundry machines at the hotel if you need em.. Relax, stay awake, and don't kill your brain by trying to study all the time.. also don't kill your bowels by eating every meal at the hotel resturant (GOOD EATS). Have fun

Bring pestiside to kill all the spiders, cockroaches, and bed bugs you will find in your room.... Oh and maybe an O2 mask to protect you from the mold... Other than that... Most people are staying here in Houston on the weekends during systems due to the overload of info.

Most people in my class went home on the weekends (or when your days off are, may not be on the weekend). Do not stay in Houston the entire time; study hard during the week, and relax/rest/etc. on your days off.

Exactly... unless you live there already, no need to stay in Houston if you don't have to be there. Enjoy the few days off you have, relax, have a beer (or 12), see your friends and family... the study materials will still be there when you get back (or bring 'em with you and study at home - even better idea).

Thanks for the replies! I'd love to know what thoughts will run through the clerks head at Walmart when I walk up with a spray can of Raid and a large box of condoms!!

I don't know at what point you'll start getting things like charts and whatnot, but it's handy to have the flight case to put them in.

I would take advantage of the travel to go home on the weekends. There are two benefits: you can decompress after the week o' class, and there's some good, uninterrupted study time while riding in the back.
