Just to update this for any other new folks who might read this in the next few days, I am Sewark based and it took me 2 months to hold a relief line, not bad imo, (ioe biginning of march-could hold relief line on june, 2nd phase), I however chose to do another month of reserve b/c I could hold sat., sun., and monday off the entire month, however, I smartened up and took the relief line for july. The flying out of newark is alot of fun, save for the ground stops, and being number 35 in line to 4L, but hey, its a busy airport, w/ alot of traffic and wx over the various fixes at any given time. I am also an RDU commuter, and have really not had any problems, except for spending a few nights in the crew room. my advise is to look for a crash pad w/ transportation or bring your car (so it can get stolen) just kidding, this is the mistake I made, being from the south where things are still pretty cheap. cabs run about 20 bucks each way, if I can't get a ride w/ one of my padmates then I'm out $40 or more for any given pairing. Also, the CA's I've flown with here are great, I'd give some names, but to protect guilty I can't! Very patient so far and let me make my mistakes, to ultimately learn something new thats can't be taught in the sim. (thanks for that guys) all in all, you've picked the right regional to be with! hope this info can help somebody and feel free to pm me or contact me any new guy questions. If I dont know, I'll find out......we were all there once too[/i]
