where have newhires been assigned recently and is IAH realistic?

It sounds like most new hires are going to EWR and CLE. Once you are at your base, you can apply for a base trade with another pilot at the base where you want to be, in your case IAH.

Two quick follow ups to the original post:

What is the criteria used in deciding who gets to pick first in a class of new-hires for assignment to IAH, CLE, or EWR(i.e. age, ssn)?

Are you guys satisfied with the bidding system in place? I have a friend at ASA who loves their computer bidding system because it is very flexible, and a friend at Comair who hates theirs.

Seniority based on age in within your new hire class.

Yeah sure... I mean those bid packets make for some good reading while in the crapper. Just bring a pen with you and circle the lines you like for whatever reason... supposedly we're getting a new line sorting software starting next month. Maybe that will be neat.
