Default How long on reserve at ERW?

Just wondering if any newbe's can give me a heads up on how long you sit on reserve at Newark, and how hard it is to get this base, I live near BWI, does anyone commute from there to ERW, how tough, seems like I can even drive if neccesary but would rather fly with gas at 2.50 a gallon! Thanks, see all you guys in the 14th class next week.

EWR shouldn't be hard to get out of training. I have no idea how long reserve is.

On any given day, there are about 5 flights from BWI to EWR...shouldn't be too hard to grab the JS at a minimum. There are typically slots in EWR for every new hire class, though there will be the exceptions where it might be totally IAH or CLE, though I doubt that will happen. The next perm bid has a lot of folks coming back to Houston, so I would anticipate there being plenty of EWR openings.

Good luck in class!

Edited to add: You'll probably be on reserve for 9-12 months. Movement has slowed, but at least there's still movement.

See ya on the 14th. Hopefully they'll have plenty of EWR if no IAH- rent will be cheap living with mom and dad but maybe not so enjoyable- 30 yrs old and living with mom and dad- priceless.

You won't be getting IAH right off the bat. The recent new hires are getting advanced in about 4-5 mos. IAH is the most senior FO base.
