if you want to fly try and call screw scheduling and request a trip that you like in open time it worked on a number of occasions when i was up in ewr.

Don't know about now, but my last month of reserve (April) I flew 90 hours on the will-fly list. With winter coming I suspect you will fly a lot.

One very bad aspect of will-fly is you get ARC more than you would otherwise. Sometimes it's more like will-sit than will-fly.

the will fly list is more of an arc list. An arc assignment is considered the same as a flight assignment according to skrew scheduling. However the arc assignment need to be filled first so they go to the will fly list and stick you to it. I sat on reserve in newark for 3 months and only put myself on the will fly list once for 4 days. I sat arc twice during that 4 day period. in the 3 months that was the only time I sat arc. i still flew over 80 hours a month on the no preference list. hope this helps

I've been "no preference" while on reserve in EWR, and haven't flown at all in the last month, and only sporadically in the month before that. During August and the first half of September I flew quite a bit. I sat ARC twice a month (usually right at the beginning of each month, but not yet in November). I'm switching to "will fly" now, because although I like being paid to do nothing, I'm getting bored (and probably forgetful). If I do have to sit ARC a lot, at least it'll be a change of scenery...

I have put myself on the will fly list for all of October and this month and it looks like I'll average about 40 hours. Always sit arc the first day on and usually end up doing overnights. Fly one leg the 1st day and then the 6:00am departure the next.

Yes... but ARC in the winter time in EWR = Will be flying that day!

I did Will-Fly in EWR in JAN, FEB, MAR... Flew my *** off, bugged crew scheduleing for trips, got ARC 4 total times and always got a trip off of it.

Your mileage may vary...

I did will fly in Feb. and Mar. in EWR and flew about 35hrs. each month. But I never bothered crew scheduling 'cause I was sitting reserve at home.
