Default ZED

I plan to take the leap and non-rev on another airline. I was unfamiliar on how ID90 worked; the posts have been very helpful.

My question is in regards to ZED (Zonal Employee Discount). If I end up not making it on the flight due to it being full, do I get a full refund back? Or do I receive my coupon back from the NW agent? Or do I stll have to pay the taxes but get the remaining money back? Also to clarify, the employee does not need to be present for me to buy a ZED pass right?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Not sure about the refund (I think you can get one if you don't get on,) but the employee definitely does NOT need to be there for you to purchase a ZED fare. Just go to the Continental ticket counter and tell them who you are and what you want. It would also be helpful to know your husband's employee number and date of hire. My wife does this all the time with Southwest and Northwest. Then you usually have to take the pass you just bought over to the other airline's ticket counter and get checked in.

Good luck!

"Whose Motorycyle is this?"

"Its a chopper, baby."

"Whose Chopper is this?"

"ZED's."

"Who is ZED?"

"ZED's dead, baby, ZED's dead!"

Ok, I have a zed pass. Do I go to the ticket counter of the airline I want to fly on to get a boarding pass or do I go to Continental's ticket counter to get the boarding pass?
