Default Reserves missing reservation on deadheads

Hey Guys, just wondering if this is a common things. It seems that every pairing I am assigned as a reserve that includes a deadhead right away. CS neglects to schedule me on that flight. Therefore I have developed the practice of showing up early at the gate so I can get things sorted out.
Any other reserves have this problem?

I would be pro-active and when they call you to assign, ask them if there is a deadhead on the trip, if yes ask for the res # , they must give you one. then you can go to co-air and pick you're seat.

That is solid advice - although they don't "have to" give you the # right there and then if the flight is the next day. They normally list the following day's deadheaders during the night shift (logic being that they anticipate so many changes so why do the work twice.) Look in sonic and see if you are listed - if not, call them and give them a gentle reminder.

Well. My thoughts were if you are on a 2 hr callout they dont always let you know in advance for the next day. It's usually @ 2 hrs to show when they call. That first leg could be a D/H. so yes they would have to give you a res. # at that time.(at 0430 you may not be awake enough to think about asking) Contractually it's 24 hrs out. I've even seen the res # on my co-air before I even picked up my phone to call about one. So it helps to check first, before wasting time calling....

Yes, I do. They have been good about this all winter, but this spring it started to get slack. After I missed a deadhead to EWR last month and discussed it with a scheduling supervisor, I saw immediate improvement. You are doing your job, let scheduling do theirs.

Over the last couple of weeks it's been great, so I suspect someone on the night shift just wasn't doing their job for a while.

Out of curiosity...if I show up for my DH and there's no listing, so I call CS and sit on hold while the plane leaves without me is that a missed trip?

That is exactly what happened to me and no, it is not a missed trip, you are where you are supposed to be. The scheduler I eventually got in touch with was a bit upset with me (because they are now in trouble) but speaking with the supervisor took care of it. He was very nice, almost apologetic, agreed they failed to list me, and routed me to EWR through an outstation.

Always make sure you are "e-ticketed" for your deadhead. If you aren't, then you will be considered a "paper ticket" and you wont get on! If you go onto e-rez in mycoair you can see if you are e-ticketed or not. I believe CS is supposed to have you taken care of 12 hours prior to your deadhead.

The contract states they will list you no later than 11:59pm CT the day prior.

Gah, my apologies for not referencing the contract. I thought I remembered 12 in there somewhere... 12am.
