I emailed Angela last month because my employer was getting anxious with me in a pool and went ahead and hired my replacement. Angela said April was the projected class and would notify me with a confirmed date when she had one. I hope they tell us one way or another....Soon!

I agree with you.
I can't figure out why HR continues to build the pool with pilots as late as the end of January?

because the change of plans is only a week or 2 old...that's why.
They will hire what Crew planning projects they need. Obviously that changed recently. Could be from CAL staffing requirements, to a reduction in Branded, to a merger.

I figured I would toward the end of March if I didn’t hear anything from her by then. I probably will begin the process of finding employment elsewhere at that point too. I don’t want to go anywhere else but I can’t afford to wait without knowing.
I agree with most of you that if we were given a date of July 7th, September 1st, told not to expect a class until next year or whatever that is better than being strung along with so much uncertainty. Yet, I am still very optimistic and very excited that we will know soon enough, whatever the outcome.

Hey Andrew, thanks for the update. I interviewed on 1/29 as well. I really wish they would tell us SOMETHING because these rumors seem to be coming from credible sources. If they are in fact true, I'm sure HR knows there will be no classes till summer and my guess is they don't want to say anything because they know most poolies would leave on that news. Personally, if April comes and goes and there is still no word about a class date... I'm out. I can't sit around waiting forever.

If you think 1/29/08 has been a long time, try 11/27/07 since I've been in the pool...not to say you haven't been waiting long either...but it's been an even longer time for us who interviewed in Nov/Dec 07! I do agree that the communication to us has been terrible. I think that we should hear something this month, with the news being definitive, whether it be good or bad. There was a rumor in the "crew room" that said there will be 45 new hires this year, to have class sometime this summer, however that is just a rumor...so who knows.
I'm hoping for an e-mail within the next two to three weeks...I wonder how many have bailed from the pool as of late? Also, those who had interview dates cancel, has anyone gotten any rescheduling news?

Yea I hear ya man, the suspense can drive you nuts. I've been working on getting the job since last May, slaved away as an unpaid intern here for 4 months. Believe me the life of an intern ain't easy, especially living out of a hotel room in a city where you know absoluely no one. Make the best of it, that's all you can do. After that, I busted *** to get to 100 multi so I could interview. Could have gone to a bottom feeder regional with practically no multi time but I figured I'd hold out for XJT. Between maintenance issues, wx, and scheduling nightmares it took me 3 months to knock that out, studying for the interview the whole time.
As much as I really do want to be here, I don't think I can wait till June, basically if this job falls through that amounts to 7 months of work for nothing since I'd probably end up at a bottom feeder anyway. Yea I know, welcome to the airline world...
I'm not tryin' to complain. I realize most of the other poolies have probably had similar stuff to go through to get here, some probably worse. If this rumor is true I just wish they'd tell us so we can move on.

If you were an intern here, have to tried calling your old intern boss to see what's up with hiring?
