With the offering of these COLA's for 1-3 months I don't see any new classes until July at the earliest, that is just thinking on my part. I'm sure that we'll receive an e-mail from Angela sometime this month.

I just listened to semak, but actually then I figured out (and correct me if I am wrong) if there is a giveback it is at the end of 09 not the beginning, so yeas then this is a load of crap and a faulty theory! Sept OCt classes but hey that is just my opinion, will be at the training dept next week and will try to get some firmer information.

OK, I can see where you are coming from, however, I don't know that we are loosing more aircraft to CAL. Don't they have to give us 12 months notice of their intent to remove more aircraft? If that is the case, I didn't see anything in December of '07 stating that they would.

First they can cancel the cpa at anytime but they can tell you soon that they will take another 25% and I think it can start in 09.

Another week has gone by and still no official word from ExpressJet on training. Maybe we’ll hear next week? One day at a time!

Tiger look I don't think you are going to hear from them anytime soon, I will be down there next week and will get the skinny, but with Delta announcing some serious changes in its business planes I am sure this will only drive this thing deeper into summer. No airline can really survive at thes fuel prices, especially the 50 seater.

If you could let us know whatever you find out that would be great!!! I know that there are a few of us waiting just a little longer to hear something before we starting looking elsewhere and preparing to interview again (don't want to but don't want to get left behind either). Thanks again.

Tiger-
I have to say that you're a positive person, and that is what is needed in situations like this. I'm in the pool w/ you as well and in terms of looking elsewhere, I think the writing is really on the wall that we won't have a class date for at least 4-6 more months. In my opinion it would be in your best interest to at least look at other airlines and maybe interview with a few. Remember, the whole interview process will most likely take a month from applying, to hearing back from them, to getting an interview, to getting an offer and subsequent class date etc...so with that in mind, applying elsewhere buys you a month to hear from Angela, but also have an opportunity at another carrier.
I'm with you man, XJT was the airline I wanted to be with, and I didn't want to go through the application process again, but I think it is in most people's interest to at least look out for something else. I get the feeling that the economy is only going to worsen, and the time to get on w/ a regional that isn't a bottom feeder is now. It's a really bitter pill to swallow, but I think one that a lot of us in the pool will have to if this keeps up. Worse case scenario-you don't get on with any other regional, you always have XJT as a fall back whenever they come calling? Just my two cents.

^^ Word. That's my plan too. Which other airlines are you looking at? I'm just hoping that other airlines wouldn't force our resignation from the XJT pool as a hiring pre-requisite.
