Default Hireing question

I was recently told by a friend of mine that works for a 135 job that they need pilots, and he can possibly get me a job there later this summer and I may have a good chance. Which would be nice cause I can build multi time which I so desparetly need considering my job now I am getting good time, but its all single engine, but this place I would be required to work for a year under contractual agreement. I applied to XJT a few months ago having just 460 hours knowing well I won't get hired with that time but I figured at least get my resume in the file since I always wanted to work for XJT. But what if I am in this company for only several months and XJT calls for a possible interview, and things work out OK and they offer the me the job, I would jump at it without thinking twice, but at the same time I would be binded to the year contract at the 135 place, I assume I might lose some money if I break that contract. Would XJT be able to hold off an interview until I do my year? Or would I have to re-apply all over again sometime when my contract is up?
I know this is all still to early to worry about since I am not even working at the preliminary job I am mentioning, but I like to plan ahead and not think about what may sound great now may eventually hold me in a clutch later down the road, cause ultimatly I really would want to move into a regional especially XJT.
Thanks for your time and patience

Ok, my suggestion is take the 135 job and then at least you are working in a 135 environment and building experiance. Xjets min went up from what i hear to 1000 and 200 with prior 135 or121 time. I know guys with over a 1000 hours and over 100 multi that are getting turned down for jobs. It is getting harder to get on now that they are slowing to 32 nebies a month instead of 64. Take the 135 job build up flight time and multi time however possible and continue looking around for a job. Good luck

You wont get hired with such little time. You also need to have a current or recent flying job when you interview here.

Go for the 135 job. There are no shortcuts. The 135 job will be good for you.

I will definetly take this job if all goes well with interviewing. Right now I fly C182 as a jump pilot but I am not getting any real good quality time (ie. Multi time, and no XC time, night time, IFR time). I took this jump pilot position 6 months ago cause I only had 380 hours and I needed to build up my total time. Now I am working on my CFI/II cause I was planning on doing that, but if I can jump into a 135, I won't think twice about it. But I still want to finish my CFI/II cause It will annoy me not finishing something I started plus its always good to have and makes you learn alot.
I hope those XJT mins don't keep going up as my time goes up, but if I land this job my projected goal to have a chance with XJT by mid '06 would be more possible if all goes well.
Thanks for the info guys, much obliged

The only way to recommend him is to give him a letter of recommendation once he has an interview. Unfortunately there isn't anyway for a line pilot to accelerate someone's application, they have to jump through the same hoops and get the interview on their own.

With you still being on probation I wouldnt think a letter would mean much for him.
