Junior Base Q

I finally have met the multi mins now to start applying for regionals and am seriously considering expressjet. I was curious to find out what the current junior base is at the moment and how long can one expect to sit reserve there? Assuming I even get hired of course. I've have talked to people and read previous threads saying that IAH is about a 6 mo. reserve but I also know recent hires who have been based in California and sat reserve for about a month. But then again, that was when XJT was still in a hiring frenzy. Now that hiring is slowing down, I wonder if the six mos. holds true for all bases. My main concern with this is that I have a wife and two boys and would hate to put them through 6-8 months away from home so I can be 2hrs within ground travel while on reserve. I have also read that they're projecting to hire about 60/mo next year. If so, am I right in assuming that the reserve time may be reduced? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Since we are hiring to replace FOs upgrading to CA to replace the CAs going else where; I could see the COEX bases becoming junior. All six bases have been getting new-hires fresh from the schoolhouse. But COEX bases have the largest numbers in terms of FOs, and I'd expect them to upgrade soon. The next big story is a EWR downsize...who knows, but usually 3-4 months you could bid/trade out into the base you want...unless its SAT FO...good luck on that one...
