Xjet Pilots Help!!
Hey Xjet pilots,
I am trying to get on with xjet, put my stuff in 2 weeks ago and havent heard back yet BUT I was offered another class date somewhere else already...WOULD RATHER GO TO XJET!! Downside...if i take the class date with this "other airline" they will make me sign a training contract (crap I know!! what real airline would do that!!!! cheap...they claim that "every airline does this") anyway, so if i start i'm stuck there. How can a get an interview with xjet SOON???
Thanks!!

The training contract narrows it down to a smaller group of companies.
If you are what your username implies, I'd stick it out there for as long as it takes you to get a job at ExpressJet or one of the other good regionals.
Even if you do not get hired at ExpressJet, you will end up somewhere better than where you're about to go (where are you about to go?).

I would strongly suggest going after whatever goal you set for yourself, and not selling yourself short just to get a job quicker. We're hiring like mad and although it takes a while for the system to work, if you want to work here that bad it will show in the interview and you'll end up with what you want-sitting in the right seat of one of our jets. Seriously consider if you really want to work at a place that has been a family-run sweatshop for many years and on top of that, has mysteriously rejected representation by our union. Or, wait to work at a place with a good contract represented by a reputable union that generally takes care of its members.
Personally, I'd make money delivering pizza waiting on a call from XJT than sign a contract at that "other" company. That's just me, but I am extremely happy working here.

its that one company that bases in PHX...i know, i know!! i'm crazy to take a seat there but i havent flown in a while so i guess desperation just to get going again has me jumping at anything.
any suggestions on how to "speed up the process"?
at this point im thinking take the latest class date they offer and hope for an xjet call...but in all honesty i can't outright pass up a class without another one on the line. as my mama always told me "a bird in the hand is better then 2 in the bush."

Not nearly as good as 2 in the pink and 1 in the stink.

if you really want xjt, why would you apply anywhere else? i assume you've done all your study about the company, and you should know how long it'll take for HR to get back to you. just be patience, you will get a call and stay away from the company you know you're gonna hate once you start with them. if you decide to join that "company", please do us a favor and don't come back and bitch about it afterward.

Dude, don't even make the mistake of going out to the desert and wasting your $50 app fee. I made the mistake of going out last April before I got the job here, acutally I am still waiting to hear if I got the job at Ornstein Air. What a rat **** operation that is, trust me deliver pizza's or clean toilets, but wait on Express Jet, this is a First Class operation and well worth the wait.
