Read bottom paragraph of the FOM Page 8-22...

So... basically... it's your discretion. In other words... if you are Houston or LA based... then you will hardly ever wear the blazer or jacket in the winter. You'd look pretty funny getting off the plane in Veracruz in the 85+ degree heat, in the winter, in your long sleeves and blazer, sweating like crazy when everyone else is in short sleeves.

Regardless... you can use the leather jacket and not the blazer. Realistically... you will need a "coat" of some sort at some point in time. But... the ONLY time the blazer or jacket is required is when you wear long sleeve shirts... that's it.

Heck... I don't even own a long sleeve uniform shirt and I haven't worn my blazer since my first winter here. The leather jacket is just so much more versatile.

If you are CLE or EWR based... then it's a no brainer... you'll need a coat of some sort.

You can order everything individually off of the Cintas Order Form and still have it payroll deducted... or... you can save yourself some $$$ and buy your uniform items elsewhere.

Hope that helps...

Go to the stopover store in the IAH Marriot. They have a nice selection of shirts, pants, flight cases, luggage, etc... just about everything you need.

You can probably find some of the stuff cheaper online... but at least you can go physically see the stuff first at the Stopover store... and their uniform prices are considerably cheaper that Cintas anyway...

It's a start anyway... and you may as well visit it while you are stuck here for a few weeks. The hotel van will take you... or at least drop you at the terminal and you can take the underground train to it.

I am waiting in the pool, going over flows and reviewing the poster. Since I will have some free time over the next couple weeks, can anyone suggest some additional study material? I was thinking about getting the 145 Quick Study Guide. Is this a good idea?

Thanks

Just a heads up, the holiday inn is not our hotel anymore. I was in the Nov 12 class (the last 2007 class and looks like the last class till April 2008) and one of my class mates ended up with bed bugs. Xjt found out about it and pulled us out of the hotel that day. It seems there was a problem with this once before and Xjt was told it would never happen again.

They moved us to the Comfort Suites for a few days until they could get us in the Sheraton. I would guess that all new hires will be staying at the Sheraton from now on.

The rest of the gouge is dead on. They will teach you everything you need to know in class. While in the pool, learn the flows they gave you and limitations if you have time. Here is a link for the limitations until you get your Vol 1. http://ccsmax.com/xjet.html
