Default Sim slots

Are new hires getting to pick sim slots based on seniority? I'm returning from a leave soon and will probably be in the newhire class because of my long absence. I wanted to know this so I could coordinate my pick with scheduling in case the newhires dont get the same contractual right.

I don't believe so. When I went through in April-May, we were just given a schedule telling us where and when. Some people who had special requests got consideration (lived in DFW, PHX, STL) so they could get those sim slots, but otherwise it seemed to be pretty random.

I am in the class that is currently on our first week of sims. We did not get any choice of location or times for sims.."here's your training schedule"
I don't think seniority had anything to do with it...just luck of the draw I guess..

Ditto, I live nearer to HOU, asked and recieved that. I was #2 in my class but I don't think anyone else cared.

I had a guy returning after a couple of years last year in our new hire class and he got what he wanted. He picked his sim partner and time. Just talk with your BI instructor and they will let you know what is available. The new hires still just get what training sched gives them but you have a say as to what you get. Also they tried to give him a roomate at the Holiday Inn with the rest of us however he also straightened that out as well. If you want you are able to stay at the Sheraton with your own room. Our guy chose to stay at the Holiday Inn to study with us since no-one else is long term at the Sheraton. You will probably have to talk to someone at the training center for the room deal because the Holiday Inn will automatically give you a roomate per their contract, but it was easily fixed the first day of BI for our guy. Good luck and welcome back.
