Default Base Flying

If you are based somewhere, will you ever fly around all of the ExpressJet destinations or will you just fly around the cities that serve that base?

I'm currently based in Houston... but I'm on a 4 day trip... and haven't seen houston again since Day 1. My flying has been all aroung the US in and out of the other bases.

Overall... there's the standards... like Houston crews see more Mexico and Red-eye/LAX flying... Newark crews see more Canada & Newfoudland flying etc... However, it's certainly not uncommon for anyone from any base to fly to any of the destinations in the COEX system.

Regardless, I've been here shy of 3 years... and I've yet to hit every destination in the system, and quite frankly don't know of anyone personally who has. We have a lot of desitinations...

It's all luck of the draw... how the lines are built... and where, if you're on reserve, scheduling sends you.

The Crew Planning folks have said that it is quite likely that if you are assigned to ONT or SAT, as a reserve, you will not do any CAL or Delta flying and vice versa.

Line holders will definitely NOT cross over into the other services. If you're based at a CAL base, you will not see any Branded or Delta flying.

We'll see if the branded flying destinations mimic the CAL flying as Bob described. There are only 24 or so branded destinations, right? Chances are good that you'll see every one of them as a SAT or ONT based pilot.
