Default Ioe

Anyone know how much IOE is going with the new hires? Are the check airmen doing a lot of work? Can anyone shed some light on this.

IOE's are running close to 40-45hrs for New hires and IOE instructors are booked solid for the next several months.

Who even has a current check airman list? The one in the bid packs is rumored to be way way way out of date as I have flown with a couple that were not in the bid packs.

I just finished IOE last week, but I had the same question you did going into it. I talked with a training scheduler at the training center before I came back home and she said they are short of check airmen and are asking the ones they have to pick up as many trips as they can. They are backed up with new hires and are all working their butts off. I waited exactly a month before I started IOE. Also, the same check airmen have to do Captain OE's in addition to the FO IOE's. For now, enjoy the 2 to 4 weeks of paid vacation! I jumpseated around with my shiny new airline ID!

I finished in under 30 hours, but if you go over 40 then you may get a call from the training dept. No worries unless you go over 55-60hrs. That's what my check airmen told me before we even got started the first day.

I hope that helps answer your questions! Good luck!
