Default Training Questions

Ok everyone I am joining Coex from a another airline starting April 4th, so here are the questions I have for you.
1) Is training as the syllabus suggests and we have ground school 7 days a week or do you get weekends off?
2) Is the hotel for the whole training period or just Monday-Fri for example?
3) Is a car needed?
4) Any meals provided?
Thanks!

1. Weekends off at least through the groundschool portion. Sim times may be over a weekend.

2. Hotel the whole time you are there. I believe if you have a break larger than 2 days off they expect you to go home (no hotel) but I could be wrong about that.

3. No car needed.

4. Free breakfast at the Holiday Inn.

Does that mean you have to check out of your room, take all your stuff home, and then bring it back and check into ao new room?

Yes... but that only happened once during my training and that was for the 4 days we had off for Thanksgiving. I just packed my stuff in my trunk and flew home.

Also the hotel coordinated with XJT and set up one room specifically for storeage for folks that wanted to leave their stuff instead of taking everything home. So... You've got a few options.

That's not a big deal, we do it three times on every 4 day!

They told us today, Do not check out of the hotel if you are leaving for the weekend. They dont want the hastle of getting us back in the hotel. I guess they are just busy and dont think its worth it. They said only check out if more than 3 days off.

To all the Independence pilots who will be starting next month:

Welcome on board! I am glad we were able to work out this opportunity for you all at a time when you needed help from your fellow ALPA pilots. It is a tough situation to start over again and many of us are appreciative of the fact you chose to come work for ExpressJet. We have a great group of people at this airline and that includes the best chief and assistant chief pilots I think you'll find anywhere in the airline industry.

I look forward to seeing you all online. Enjoy training. Go in prepared with a good attitude and all will work out for you.
