Training for furloughed guys
Any furloughed guys who have been through the indoc/ systems care to comment on the quality/intensity of Xjet?
Was it better/ more comprehensive?
Was it similar to what you came from?
Was it very intensive or not too bad?
Were you able to relax if you had all the memory items/ limitations down before hand?
Sorry to ask some tedious question's, just trying to get a feel for how much I should start stressing out before I go to class.
Thanks for any replies.

You are in for a vacation! It is not nearly as ridiculous as ACA's training was. XJT teaches only what you need to know. You do not have to prove you could rebuild the aircraft from scratch. It is a much more accelerated course too, about 7 weeks total. I don't know how long the DoJet training took for you guys but the CRJ program for me was 3 months long.
I am in Sims now. My partner/ roomy came from the DoJet and we both are breezing through the Sims. Same avionics (but older version in the ERJ) as the DoJet and same FMS. This will be a huge plus for you DoJet guys. For me, coming from the CRJ, the aircraft flies VERY similarly (e.g. V1 cuts, crosswind T.O. and landings feel exactly the same). I would plan on going home every single weekend or other breaks of 2 or more days off, trust me. The hotel is great. Lots of fun to be had here, it is like a coed college dorm. Flight attendants, CS, Mechanics, and others from XJT as well as Mainline. Free breakfast, mall nearby, wooded running trail, sand volleyball court, basketball, tennis courts, gym and a pool.
Don't sweat the GOS and Systems tests. I scored in the high 90's. Just to give an example of how laid back and not as in-depth they are here. Exemption 3585, we spent about 8 hours on it there or equivalent to one entire day on that **** thing. Here at XJT, we spent 15 mins total. Good news is you won't have to study it like the rest of the class. You will be able to spend your time studying with and helping your classmates understand it.
Just know the memory items and limitations (should take about 2 hours to get them down cold) and have a basic understanding of the flows.
I hope you kept your Jepp binders. You will need two of them for your charts as well. They do not provide them.
Hope this helps?

Thanks TD, Being a super slacker is what I' m all about. I got the limitations and memoery ites down, just trying to get the flows. Is PM your sim partner?
Did you say free breakfast? Is it pretty decent? Besides being a slacker I'm also cheap. Also, would you reccomend a car?

I wouldn't necessarily say you can be a slacker. That's how it may appear to the untrained eye, but you will need to study and prepare a bit. It's just the second time around is not nearly as difficult. For example I only had to study one to two hours a day after class, compared to approximately seven solid hours, hardly getting any sleep and only seeing my wife one time in 3 months at ACA (that definitely put my marriage to the test).
Breakfast is great! Hot and cold stuff. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, french toast, hot oatmeal, fresh cut fruit, hot and cold cereal, beagles, toast, yogurt, milk and O.J. Just leave them at least a buck tip because so many people stiff them on the tips here.
PM (aka The Doctor) is my roomy. Couldnât ask for a better roommate/ sim partner. Talk about laid back, PM is the ultimate laid back, funny, easy going guy. The funny thing is we both commute to and from the same city and never met because he was on the Delta side. If you know someone in particular that you want to room with just check in together. When you get to the hotel they just pair people together in rooms in the order that you check in at.
As far as having a car. It depends on how far you are from Houston. I would not bring a car if the drive will be more than 8 hours. The shuttle takes you everywhere here. Grocery store, Wal-Mart, Mall, Bars, and obviously to and from the airport and training center. The Shuttle runs every 20 mins.

Did you interview on 2/22? Start class on 3/21? The only FlyI guy hired in our group, right? Anyways I'll be there on the 21st. I'm thinking this GS will be a great experience. Based off of the limitation/Memory Items looks like XJT wants you to know the items that actually matter. At my current airline I had 200+ limitations for an airplane that is very strait forward. I'm hoping I get paird up with somebody with similar 121 experience.

Yes guys, 2000% better than ACA's training. If you flew the dojet, it will be walk in the park, sit back relax and enjoy the flight...........

Too F#!$*ing funny! Sometimes they serve doberman too. I can't believe no one noticed that until now. Anyway, I think I meant bagels.
