Default Internship Interview

Howdy Everyone,
I have recently been invited to interview for the XJT flight ops summer internship. Curious if there are any former interns on the board, or any company specific advice out there. Ive been following the company quite closely and am really excited about the opportunity. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

My advice.......do an internship for a major. The only thing doing one here will get you is save you about 300 hours of being a CFI. If you can get hired with 600 TT, what is the point of working a whole summer for free? Then you can get hired at a major like CAL with 0 PIC time like many Xjet fo's that left here for CAL and never upgraded. (much better deal)

Saint Louis U. (aka Parks College)

Also cautious about interning with a legacy, CALs internship is only open to 3 schools, Delta continues to be unstable, and the remaining carriers furloughed ranks cancels out the benefit of preferred hiring.

Have had quite a few CFIs and friends that have moved on to XJET, all of whom continue to be happy, and am also a native Houstonian. So overall... its my top choice for the summer.

I did my internship at Southwest. It was one of the best things I ever did. They were a lot of fun to work for and they even paid me $10/hr. Both us and Southwest are great places so either way you can't go wrong... Good Luck!

If you do one, do it will UPS. ITs a year long but its paid and decently paid. You could score a job with them down the road and be set for life. Wish i would have done it.

same deal at Fedex... For you intern guys...I was talking to our new interns and they said the FAA is not letting any interns (doesn't matter the company) jumpseat anymore (that sucks).
