Default New Hire Requirements...

Does ExpressJet have a hard requirement that XJT will only hire pilots that are currently in a full time flying position? If I meet the all the mins (TT/Multi/Currency/other), but my current job is not flying, does that eliminate me from being hired at XJT? If I were to do the ATP Transition Program, does that help getting past this requirement (if there is one)?
thanks

There is no requirement that you must have a current flying job, or if there was i didnt know about it. I was working as a Manager in the mall near my home when i was hired and before that was a reserve law enforcement officer.

As far as that ATP course, it wouldnt hurt because I believe any training is good training (well...kinda) but with that said you deffinately dont need that course and might as well save your money to supplement the income you wont have once you come onboard. Im just being sarcastic, but in all seriousness meet the mins and apply. Goodluck!

Thank you for the reply! I meet the mins and applied 4 months ago. I'm in the eternal 'screening' holding pattern. While working at the mall, were you flight instructing? What were you doing to stay current? Do you have a million turbine hours?? Can you say what your times were?

I am looking for anyway to get an interview at XJT. You guys have, by far, the best thing going and I'd love to be part of the team!
