From a call from my ex-wife, I realized that it seems the company is not being consistently prompt in sending the child support payments that are being withheld from my checks to the attorney general's office for disbursement to my ex-wife. On one occasion the payment was 2 weeks late and, as of right now, what the company withheld from my May 16th check has still not made it to the attorney general's office. There is a possibility that the attorney general's office has not credited the payment, but with the rash of payroll problems going around, the company is the reasonable suspect here. I doubt that I am the only one who is encountering this problem. If you are having child support withheld from your checks then you might want to check into this.

Also, if you are paying child support in Texas (I don't know other state's laws on this), if the company fails to send in 2 payments, the attorney general will put it on your credit report and charge you 6% interest on the arrears which will compound daily. I urge all who are having child support withheld from their pay to check thier status pronto.

Mine has been coming out of my paycheck consistantly too. The question is whether or not the attorney general has been receiving it.
