Default Quick Question

I had a 45 minute gate return, does this count towards 30/7, and we never left the ground.

Absolutely. You were acting as a pilot on that flight. Your specialized skills were needed. You have to be a pilot to be in that position. 30/7 baby!

good luck getting out of your next trip.

45 min in line for takeoff then you decided to pull a couple of CB's. Thats is a good hack!

Absolutely WRONG.

It does not count toward 30/7 as it was not flight time. No landing = no flight time.

Email compliance and we will, again, give you the correct answer to this question. In fact, since it is FAR and not contractual, I'll tell you now. Almost everyone here has misguided you. It does NOT count toward your 30/7 calculation.

Care to explain why? I've seen the previous discussion but "flight time" is defined as "any time the aircraft moves under its own power for the purpose of flight" ... it doesn't say you have to actually achieve flight, just intend it...

Sure that's what ALPA says, but what about the FAA?
