Yes, quite correct. He is a smart guy. Hence the "theologically retarded" specification.............

I actually thought that was a great documentary that exposed the out right hypocrisy in the educational system. There was a lot of time and money spent to get actual facts. And he didn't say that intelligent design was the only way things should be taught. He was just trying to get an answer to why no one will agree to an honest debate. What is so wrong with that?

First of all, Ben Stein is not a scientist, so I don't put much stock in his arguments.

The reason no one will agree to honest debate is because this isn't science. In order to be science you have to be able to test your theories in a scientific manner. They may not be true, but anyone can retest your experiment and should get a consistent outcome. This is the reason that the "Church of the flying spaghetti monster" is so funny. They poke fun at creationists by pointing out the absurdities of their thoughts as they relate to "Real" science.

I think the mistake the scientific community made, even though it was probably the best way to handle it, was to ignore these idiots. The problem with that is these people think since the scientific community won't debate or ignores them, that they actually have come legitimacy and scientists are afraid. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

I am making a documentary right now preaching the teachings of santa and the toothfairy. I have lots of "facts" to back up my arguments...........mostly fiction stories, but they come from books so they have to be true. The education community won't take my side seriously, so it's a good thing parents still tell these stories to their kids or no one would believe it them!
