RIP Scott Kallita

All of us drag racing fans are mourning the loss of Funny Car driver Scott Kallita, killed in qualifying last night at Old-Bridge Township Dragway. It's a horrible crash, and can been seen in numerous places on Youtube.

God Bless he and his family.

For anyone who's ever flown into Old Bridge (3N6) right next door, I saw in the paper this morning that apparently the car hit the sand and vaulted the catch fence...sent it across Pension Road into the woods.

Can only hope he was unconscious from the blast and didn't have to watch that coming.

I am pissed about the track not having a large gravel pit for cars that run well over 300 mph. That dam wall is just stupid! They should have a net at all tracks that don't have a gravel pit.

They have sand AND a net. Looking at some of the articles today from one of the people that was down there, he hit one of supports for the net.

The sand works great to slow down a few miles per hour, but at 300 it's not going to do anything...
