I'm all for a new flow back. Lets hear their offer. I say 1 for 1 and then we get DOH when we go over there for bidding, vacation, pay, retirement, etc. Otherwise, I'm done being CAL's beotch.

Ok. so when the chips were down and Skywest was sniffing around and CAL was talking canceling the cpa how many CAL pilots did you feel had our backs? Thats the number of CAL pilots we should offer preferential interviews to fill any NEW positions we may have. I'm all done being CAL's bitch.

I would suspect that we got more support from the CAL MEC than you'd think. It's just a hunch but I think they may have been pretty helpful over the last couple months. And you KNOW I'm the first one to bash CAL

Of course there will be no flow back agreement. I can't believe you guys actually took that bait...Pickle and Matt should really know better. You know that JerseyKid is one of the biggest douchbags on this forum (which speaks volumes!)
I would imagine that COLAs and early outs will completely mitigate any furloughs anyway. Reducing our line production averages by only 5 hours would require an additional 300+ pilots, so that is also an option to take care of any possible furlough. Add to that the strong rumors of 8 more 777's and a handful of 757-300s from ATA that would have to be staffed.
Bottom line, I don't have any idea where the 450 number comes from. Lots of fear mongering coming from downtown IAH I would imagine, especially since we are in contract negotiation openers...don't believe the hype...

Of course I know there'd be no FTA. I was just stating that I'm open to discussion on the idea Hey you could make it worth it I honestly don't think you'll see any there either. This whole fuel thing just happens to come while your contract is up for negotiations. Funny how that works. Jeez, you guys just can't catch a break!

Would that make you happy? In the end, you will still be flying an RJ around while nobody is hiring and those guys that get furloughed will be back in short order making more in the right seat than you will be in the left seat in better equipment with a better quality of life.... But if you get some sort of mental gain from CAL having to furlough for a few years, then by all means, enjoy it. I remember being in the left seat of the RJ when CAL had to furlough last time. It made my stomach turn that things in the industry had caused this to happen(and I was directly affected by the flow-back). For you guys to be excited about this possibility when your own schedules will not even be affected is a bit sick. Do you think we would be excited about an Express furlough? Seriously.... Wow...
Even though we need to go about 1500 deep to hit me, I'll do what it takes to mitigate the need to furlough a single pilot here. I hope you guys are willing to do the same for your own someday should the issue arise.

Tool.
But at least we won't be furloughed every few years like at CAL.
Do I care if CAL furloughs? Frick NO! You guys crap on XJT every chance you get. And BTW, the furlough will be a long time, or maybe even forever this time, because you'll get to come back to a merged airline! See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!
